I just got Model Home, and I'm so excited to get to it!

My month was also full of haunting reads, I loved Voice Like a Hyacinth by Mallory Pearson. It comes out in January, and is such a fresh take on horror.

Thanks for great recommendations. I added most to my list.

I loved The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward, although I wouldn’t classify it as horror, I did find it in the horror section. It’s the first book I’ve read by that author and I can’t wait to read more.

I couldn’t get into Dead Eleven by Jimmy Juliano, I gave up after 100 pages.

I also loved Disclaimer by Renee Knight. I read it in one day. It’s a thriller. It’s now a TV show on AppleTV. Of course the book is better than the show.

I absolutely loved last house on needless street, glad to hear you enjoyed it too! and that’s funny I also have up on dead eleven after about the same amount of time, it just isn’t very captivating is it? I’d also recommend looking glass sound & sundial by ward, I’m sure you’ll like both of them too!

I like meeting people with similar tastes. :) I’ll definitely check out those two. Yeah, Dead Eleven is boring. If I don’t care about the characters after 100 pages, I’m done. Too many books and not enough time.

So many great books. I've never heard of Rivers Solomon before but with such a high recommendation I will be checking them out. And the Linghun novella sounds amazing. Ever since September House, I've been looking for another interesting take on the haunted house trope.

would you recommend september house? I’ve been on the fence about it but I’ll have to pick it up soon! and I’d say both model home and linghun were the most compelling takes on haunted houses I’ve come across! both great in their own ways

Highly recommend. I thought haunted houses were blasé but September House made me love them and want to consume more like it
