So glad to see someone with a similar opinion about Drive Your Plow! I love astrology but some of it just didn't seem to fit. Interesting, glad I read it, but not what I call a favorite.
Also I've been waiting for it to cool down to get to Woodworm and I'm VERY excited you liked it. I want a physical copy but I hate hardbacks of tiny books lol
Martha is really the queen of books in translation - she has introduced me to so many !!
yes I agree it just wasn’t a favorite. I did get the ebook for Woodworm because I would have had to order the physical and didn’t want to wait!! but the cover is so gorgeous I wish I had got the physical copy. you’ll have to let me know what you think!!
Wait WHAT I didn’t get this notification 🥺 thank you so much Hannah - how incredibly kind of you.
I’m so pleased to hear you loved Boulder, although I can’t say I’m surprised because honestly everybody I’ve recommended the book to has loved it! It is sensational - the writing and the journey the book takes you on in Boulders head. I miss her.
I can understand your comments on Drive Your Plow about pacing, I just loved the narrator so much! I absolutely agree that in general old protagonists are not written about enough! I have Death in Spring on my list to read next spring, so I enjoyed hearing about how much you loved it! Equally, I was really interested to hear how much you loved Dogs of Summer because I have been unsure on whether to approach that book or not due to some mixed reviews I’ve seen. But if you liked it so much I’ll give it a go!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention you especially this month!! always look forward to your roundups (: and yes I found Boulder extremely immersive which I loved—I miss her too. I think you will enjoy Death in Spring, the writing is wonderful and the emotional aspects are incredibly well done! as for Dogs of Summer, it was a strange little books but I have an affinity for strange books! I hope you enjoy both of them! <3

I’m all about translated books, and Woodworm, Dogs of Summer and Death in Spring are now officially on my TBR. Thanks for the great recs! 📚✨
ah I’m glad to hear it! I hope you love them!! <3
Boulder was truly sensational!!
I’m kicking myself for not picking up Dogs of Summer… it’s been sitting on my bedside table all summer
I’d highly recommend it, especially before the summer weather ends!!
